Roman Volodymyrovych Pavelkiv


Acting Rector of Rivne State Humanities University, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Honoured Worker of Education of Ukraine, Academician of the Academy of Higher Education Sciences of Ukraine, awarded the Order of Merit III degree, badge “Petro Mohyla”, Head of the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at RSHU.


Roman Volodymyrovych Pavelkiv — acting rector of the Rivne State Humanities University, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at RSHU.


Born on 2nd July 1956 in Lviv Oblast.


Pavlovsky R.V. graduated from the Rivne State Pedagogical Institute named after D.Z. Manuilsky (RSPU). He was a lecturer in psychology and pedagogy at the Kremenets Pedagogical College (1981-1982). Since 1982, he has been a lecturer at the Rivne State Pedagogical Institute. From 1985 to 1988, he studied in the postgraduate programme at the Research Institute of Psychology of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1990, he defended his candidate dissertation. He worked as an associate professor in the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Head of the Department of Child Psychology at the Rivne State Pedagogical Institute. In 1994-1995, he held the position of Dean of the Historical and Sociological Faculty of RSPU. From 1995 to 2006, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Education at the Rivne State Humanities University (RSHU). From 1999 to 2015, he served as the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Educational Methodology at RSHU. Since 2015, he has been the First Vice-Rector of RSHU..


In 2003, by the decision of the attestation commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, he was awarded the academic title of professor.


In 2005, he defended his doctoral dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Psychological Sciences at the H.S. Kostiuk Institute of Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.


Since 2003, Head of the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at RSHU.


The result of targeted scientific and methodological work is a scientific contribution of approximately 200 scientific papers. R. V. Pavelkiv is the author of a number of books and scientific articles, including: monographs: "The Development of Moral Consciousness and Self-Consciousness in Childhood" (2004), "Phenomenology of Moral Development of the Individual: Determination, Mechanisms, Genesis" (2009), monograph "Prosocial Development of the Individual" (2013); textbooks: "General Psychology" (2002, 2009, 2013), "Developmental Psychology" (2011, 2015), "Child Psychology" (2015); study guides: "Pedagogical Psychology" (2003), "Child Psychology" (2008), "Practicum in Child Psychology" (2008), "Brief Guide to Child Psychology" (2008), "Child Psychology. Study Guide for Independent Work of Students. Series: SAM" (2013), "Psychodiagnostic Tools in the Context of Preschool Education" (2013).


Under the supervision of Pavelsky R. V., 16 candidate dissertations and 2 doctoral dissertations have been defended. He provides guidance to doctoral students, postgraduates, and candidates for academic degrees..


Member of specialised Academic Councils for the defence of doctoral and candidate dissertations: Rivne State Humanities University (2000-2002); H.S. Kostiuk Institute of Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv, from 2004 to present); National Pedagogical University named after M.P. Drahomanov (Kyiv, from 2005 to present).


Editor-in-Chief of the professional publication "Psychology: Reality and Perspectives", member of the editorial boards of several psychological and pedagogical publications in Ukraine.
